Alright, so maybe calling this a “downtown Austin wedding” isn’t the most accurate title, but I don’t know what else to call it! When my pal John at Seoulju wanted to gift his friends a photo session, I was more than happy to oblige. First of all, it’s because I can’t say no to John. Second of all, I simply love photographing couples. You get to do so much with them! I won’t lie, though. From my perspective, it’s both funny and cute seeing couples shyly kiss for the camera. My favorite part is seeing how comfortable and second nature it feels by the end.

Josh and Sara didn’t have a photographer at their wedding so the idea was to get a belated couples session done for them. These two were such a joy to work with, it made the trek across downtown that much easier to bear. Downtown is great because of all the sights and photo-worthy places, but I’m a big whiner when it comes to long walks. So, while their wedding may not have taken place downtown, I’m going to go ahead and say we celebrated their downtown Austin wedding on this day – hah!

Walkin’ in a (sort of) winter wonderland.

We chose such a wonderful day to take these photos. The weather was beautiful. Austin can be hit or miss when it comes to winter foliage. Luckily, this was a year where we had some beautiful brown and red leaves. As such, I took advantage of the wonderful colors we saw along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. Coupled with golden hour, the tones were absolutely gorgeous. Did you notice how well they complimented the color of Sara’s dress? My favorite photo – the dip and kiss – was taken right outside of the Austin Central Library, framed by that fantastic bridge. When I say we strolled everywhere in downtown Austin, I mean everywhere. I’ve got a penchant for a few places around downtown, as you’ve no doubt seen in my blog posts.

Featured in the gallery below, you might recognize a few iconic Austin sites. The Driskell Hotel made for a great backdrop, and given that we were so close to Christmastime, we even wandered inside to take advantage of their Christmas tree! Josh and Sara, thank you so much for trusting me with your photos. I had a great time wandering around for your downtown Austin wedding.

Shout out Seoulju!

By the way, if you haven’t had the chance to visit Seoulju, you are definitely missing out. Take a look at some of the photos I’ve taken for them. No, this post wasn’t sponsored by Seoulju – I just really love their food.
