Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a family session for an old high school classmate at Sekrit Theater. This location is pretty popular amongst Austin photographers, so I was ecstatic at the opportunity to finally shoot here! The venue was a unique and visually stunning location, making it the perfect backdrop for capturing beautiful family moments.
Sekrit Theater is a hidden gem with a variety of stunning locations for photography. Mackenzie was actually the one who suggested the venue, and we started the photo shoot by exploring the different areas of the theater. The vintage props, the rustic walls, and the beautiful natural light provided a perfect ambiance for the family photo shoot.
A big challenge in working with families is the tolerance kids, especially young children like Koda who are not used to being in front of the camera. Hey, I get it! I was three once. However, I made sure to keep him engaged, making the photo shoot feel like a fun adventure. We played games, made silly faces, and ran around the theater, resulting in natural and candid family photos. Of course, it helped that his mom was promising ice cream (:
I would say the family shoot at Sekrit Theater was a success, and we captured beautiful and memorable family moments. The venue added a unique touch to the photographs, making them more special and timeless.
