Mary & Cidney's Summer Wedding
Austin is known for its vibrant culture, stunning scenery, and rich traditions. Nestled in this lively city is St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, a beautiful venue for weddings. When Mary and Cidney asked me to photograph their summer wedding at this iconic church, I couldn’t have been more excited!
St. Catherine of Siena offers a timeless aesthetic with its stone architecture, stained-glass windows, and serene ambiance. The church’s spacious interior allows for creativity when composing shots, while its natural light enhances the details of both the ceremony and the couple.
For outdoor shots, the church grounds offer lush greenery, perfect for portraits or candid moments
Golden Hour Couples Portraits
After their heartfelt ceremony at St. Catherine of Siena, the couple opted for an intimate, at-home reception surrounded by close family and friends. Before heading to the celebration, we made a quick stop at a nearby field in South Austin to capture some stunning golden-hour portraits. The soft, warm light illuminated their joy, creating timeless shots full of love and laughter.
Warm Celebrations
Afterwards, we headed home, where guests were mingling amongst themselves. We enjoyed speeches and toasts, followed by a first dance with the bride and groom. Mary and Cidney later changed into traditional Vietnamese wedding ao dai, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the evening. The at-home gathering was filled with warmth, delicious food, and heartfelt toasts—a perfect way to celebrate their union in an atmosphere that felt deeply personal and meaningful.
