Typically, the spring and fall semesters at UT Austin would mean my weekends are booked snapping away at some senior photos. Of course, there was nothing typical about 2020. Given the state of the pandemic, I decided to put a pause on my photography work until I was comfortable working with clients again. With the exception of the occasional requests, it was a very nice time to recharge. I found my creative energy severely lacking this year, but it was amazing how inspired I felt when I work with my clients. When things started calming down in Texas, I got a chance to catch up on some rescheduled shoots.
After classes moved online for the year, Monica had moved home to Houston to finish her courses. Color me surprised when I found out she was driving all the way from Houston for our session! November is a challenging time to shoot because the weather is always hit or miss. Despite it being Texas, we still have our fair share of dreary overcast days. Dreary weather aside, I had a lot of fun getting to know Monica. Her boyfriend joined us for the shoot so it was only natural that we snap a few couples shots.
He may not have been the biggest fan at first, but I think he warmed up eventually, don’t you? Monica herself is a natural in front of the camera, so consider me insanely jealous of her for being so photogenic! If her career in supply chain management doesn’t work out, I hope she looks into modeling.
