You’ll never have to worry about remembering your wedding day when you choose to have a leap day wedding. Anyone that chooses to have a Leap Day wedding is cool in my book. We were blessed with such a beautiful, sunny day for Zach and Zoey’s wedding in Round Rock. The ceremony took place at St. John Vianney Catholic Church followed by a reception at the gorgeous Casa Blanca on Bushy Creek.
Quick back story: I know Zach through work from my time at WP Engine. When I jokingly asked him if I could photograph his wedding one day in the lunch line, I never imagined he and Zoey would actually ask me for the job! Next thing I know, one thing led to another and we had the day booked. I appreciate them so much for trusting me through the process, and I was thrilled to work with a couple that was so easy-going.
If you’ve ever photographed a wedding, you’ll know how special it is to be an outsider with such an intimate view into a couple’s wedding day. I had a great time documenting the whole process – it was full of beers, kilts, bagpipes, and a whole lot of love. More importantly, I’m especially grateful that we were able to celebrate this wonderful day before the world shut down. Just a week or two later, weddings were being cancelled left and right, businesses closed, and stay-at-home orders were issued around the world. Great timing, guys. Covid may have thrown a wrench in a lot of plans this year, but Zach and Zoey’s wedding wave spared!
